The role is easier to acknowledge in certain genres of writing and tends to be associated with popular cultural cultural forms, especially where individuals famous for exploits in ostensibly non-literary fields (e.g. sporting endeavour, screen-acting, entertainment, and so on) are commissioned to write an autobiography or newspaper column.
