ABSTRACT S.Sh. Salakhov IN MEMORY OF THERMAL WATERS OF THE ISTISU-KALBAJAR AREA In paper following thermomineral areas are considered: Bagyrsakh, the Upper Istisu, the
Lower (Nizhni) Istisu and Kalbajar.
The investigated area has very difficult geological structure.
In the upper part of the river Tartar there are numerous springs which are closely connected
with a deep fault.
According to the chemical composition the thermal waters are magnesium-calcium
hydrocarbonaceous with a total dissolved solids content from 1,1 to 2,7 g/l. On a gas compound
thermal waters basically carbonic. Microcomponents participate is component of thermal waters –
bromine, boron and others.
In area of Istisu the temperature of springs reaches 74°C. The total discharge of
thermomineral waters of the Istisu-Kalbajar are makes 400 thousand m
3
/day.
