The purpose of the work is to reveal their general and differential features by means of learning methods and means of expressing irony content in English and Uzbek languages.
Methods of the study: contrastive analysis, lexicological, descriptive, distributive, classification and statistical analyses methods were used.
The obtained results and their novelty: Similarity and differential features of the means of expressing irony in English and Uzbek languages were distinguished by contrastive learning methods.
The ironic content of expressive (intonation-phonetic, lexical-phraseological, morphological, syntactic) means was analyzed and regulated;
Methods of expression of ironic content were studied and their types (irony, sarcasm, mockery, sneering...) rated;
The process and stages of irony expression were shown;
In Uzbek linguistics the linguistic features of ironic content were studied monographically.
The role of irony in the system of stylistic expressive means has been determined;
Linguistic characteristics of expressive means of ironic content were studied.
