From the year of 2015 till the current time, the water pollution by the field
of petroleum is considered as one of the five grand challenging issues as the
Oil and Gas industry is significantly developing day by day.
As it was mentioned in the report of the future objectives that have been
set under the Protocol of WHO of Azerbaijan, oil is considered one of seven
essential bacteriological types of pollutants. Depending on the air/water
interference, one drop of oil is able to pollute approximately 100 liters of water
accordingly and taking into account that water needed for one well is in
interval between 1.5 million and 16 million gallons which account for the
number anywhere between 5 678 117.68 L and 60 566 588.5 L. Considering
the matter that there are only 504 wells in Bibiheybatoil and Oil Gas field in
Azerbaijan, it leads to the contamination of averagely 16.69 GL water caused
by only one field.
Because of the rapid increase in the population of the world and
contamination of the water basins, effluvium streams acquired by a well that
are considered once as debris are valued as precious resources now and
some quantity of these water resources either undergone some procedures
of de-oiling and turned to be disposal that are poured into water basins-into
Caspian sea in Azerbaijan even though currently it is not used highly as how
it was or utilized to place the need of water in Petroleum Industry used for
different purposes such as water injection-refining, processing oil as well as
gas with the intention of being alternative version to the perfect complement
and to the desalination.
Talking about briefly the disposal process, the urbanization process
carried at Absheron Peninsula can be the most outstanding example in which
the flow of debris which is untreated to Caspian Sea was suspended. The
project was initiated with determining the list of possible polluters in Baku
Bay, sources of that pollution as well as productive cleaning direction were
determined and the areas which is contaminated by the waste of oil were
determined by the method of drip irrigation on the Absheron Peninsula. [the
