Rector, Prof. Ravinder Gargesh, all the SamSU International Conference
Organizing Committee, and friends and colleagues,
On behalf of AsiaTEFL, I would like to extend my congratulations and
support the Samarakand State University International Hybrid
Conference 2023. I am delighted to be part of this conference myself along with other AsiaTEFL
colleagues in the spirit of collaboration between AsiaTEFL and the conference organizing
committee under the leadership of Prof. Ravinder Gargesh, Immediate Past President of
AsiaTEFL.
The conference theme
“Resolving complexities in English Studies: Theoretical and
Pedagogical Perspectives”
is very timely and significant as we are living in this changing world
where we face new issues, challenges, paradigm shift, and complexities to resolve in our beloved
field of English studies.
I am certain that this conference will serve as an open forum for likeminded scholars to exchange
their expertise and experiences with each other and inspire and encourage the future generation
English language researchers, English language teaching practitioners, teachers and students in
Uzbekistan and many other countries in Central Asia, paving the way for the development of
English studies in the region and the world. I wish a great success of the conference and all the
participants’ happiness and prosperity.

AsiaTEFL International Conference 2023 is held with the theme “Celebrating ELT in
Asia: Visons and Aspirations” on August 17-20, 2023, in Daejeon, S. Korea and online. You are
