Issues of Patriotic Education in the Works of Khalil Rza Uluturk During the Soviet Period 89
The great Azerbaijani poet, immortal independence fighter Khalil Rza Uluturk left a very
valuable patriotic legacy for future generations with his stubborn and unique struggle in the
difficult life. The immortal artist deserves to be remembered in the most respectful way with his
contributions to the creative world. In many of his poems, written in the simple vernacular, the
poet, who is well acquainted with our folklore, addressed the representatives of the simplest
strata of the people, as if directly, and confidently invited everyone to the struggle for freedom.
Even during the harshest days of the Soviet regime, Khalil Rza openly and fearlessly
declared his revolt, and did not hesitate, albeit in the slightest.
Like other poets of the time, the 1950, the beginning of K. Rza's career as a communist poet,
were mostly devoted to the description of the natural landscape, and the description of the
nature of our native land was the main motive of the poems. In the yeast of these poems,
patriotic motifs have earned a worthy place.
Parental love is one of the most frequently used creative themes of K. Rza, who tirelessly
struggles with the difficulties he faces and believes in the power of his pen in this struggle. The
poet, who had a very valuable attitude to the love of his parents, was deeply moved by the loss
of his parents, and found his consolation in writing about his suffering. From this point of view,
one of the most influential poems of K. R. Uluturk is "In your garden". This poem, written after
the death of his father, vividly reflects the poet's love for his father, the traces of his childhood
memories that he remembers as he looks at every corner of his native garden, and the feelings of
longing for his parents in his inner world.
One of the most sacred beings in life is the mother. A mother who is always ready to give
her life for her child is the most proud being on earth. From oral folk literature to the works of
poets and writers, many examples of creativity speak of endless love for the mother, glorify the
sanctity and greatness of the mother. In the poem "Mother's Letter", which is one of the poems
written in the 1950, K. R. Uluturk speaks of a deep love born and considers him the greatest
teacher in his life.
Along with poems dedicated to the feelings of love for parents, K. R. Uluturk also wrote
poems about the love of children, and considered the love of children to be very pure and sacred.
The poem "Longing for Children" written by the poet in 1958 is very valuable in this regard.
Thus, the poet expresses in a meaningful way how he is waiting for the path of his unborn child,
how great the love of children is, and how this world will be enlightened by this love.
