Describe DJ Patil’s motivation drivers according to the description below (10 points)
To describe the motivations of DJ Patil’s, I will start with the Pyramid of Maslow.
DJ Patil’s is positioned at the level 5 “Self-Actualization” because he wants
to develop his full potential, let express what he is good at…
“. He has worked in academia, in government, in big public companies, and in start-ups; he is a technologist and a businessman; a teacher and a diplomat.”
Now, I’m going to use the article we had study in class on the 7 Intrinsic Motivatiors.
Motivation is favorable to each of us. Only with experience helps us to understand what motivates us. Thanks to the article, I can undertand him motivations.
As I know, almost all people have one of the 7 motivators in their DNA. Most have a primary motivator and one or two secondary motivators. For DJ Patis, the principal motivator is « the Result » because he wants the satisfaction of carrying out projects. He wants to exercise his talent to succeed. He is motivated if the work is sufficiently stimulating. (reference to maslow's pyramid).
For
his two secondary motivations, it is « Authority » because he is content to influence and sometimes even to control others. In
addition, he enjoys leading and persuading and is motivated by positions of power and leadership. The second is « independence » because he wants freedom. He enjoys working and taking responsibility for his own tasks and projects.
In addition, thanks to the article, it’s stipuled he mastered the theory of Chaos. Chaos theory is seen as an opportunity rather than a challenge. It’s based on the innovation, the creativity and the emergence.
We can conclude that DJ Patil’s is motivated by continuously changing environment. He is a self-learner. He constantly challenging himself. All the time, he is looking for the optimal solution.
