for a wide variety of cargoes and vessels. The maximum draught is 12.5m. Port Taranaki handles a wide diversity
of cargoes including all forms of bulk products (liquid and dry), break-bulk and containerised goods and has
specialist experience in the handling of heavy lift and project cargoes. All wharves are supported by covered
and open storage areas. The port provides a ‘One Stop Shop’ for offshore logistics, support vessels, towage,
terminal/berthing tugs and offshore marine Pilotage. A ‘fit for purpose’ logistics facility is located close to
support vessel berths. Fresh water and diesel oil bunkers are available through 100mm lines, which enhance the
‘One Stop Shop’ philosophy. The offshore berths have specialised facilities between them. These include heavy
lift capacity, a cutting shed, bulk cement and drilling mud blending equipment and 2000 m2 of sealed laydown
area. Newton King Tanker Terminal is a state of the art multi-cargo marine loading terminal, which handles
maximum ship size of 211m length and 35m beam.
