Croucher and Crowder was established in 1929. Although general maintenance and repairs and building
bracketry were mainstays of the company, pastry sheeters, coal stokers and curd mixers were also developed.
In the 1950s a retail store was developed which now includes a store in New Plymouth, both of which are
Tradezone associates supplying tools, consumables, bearings and many parts . In 1954 the company made
its first foray into structural steel, producing trusses for its workshop expansions. C&C is now proud to be
associated with many large-scale steel fabrications throughout the North Island. In the 1960’s C&C was involved
with early seismic surveys for the Kapuni development and also with derrick erection for the drill program
across the district. Croucher and Crowder continues to train trades people and many past staff members are in
positions of responsibility around the country and the world. Croucher and Crowder also has two Kato Cranes
