The Determinination of Optimum Production Lot Sizes and Application in a Valf Manufacturing Firm
This study includes in determining optimum production lot sizes in a Butterfly valf manufacturing firm based on different production lot sizing algorithms and also contains making the optimal sequence of those production lot sizing models.
The study is mainly seperated in two parts. In the first part, the literature investigation has been performed related to production lot sizing algorithms, and that investigation has been seperated in two sub-parts, those of which are static and dynamic models.
The second part of the study consists of finding out the optimum production lot sizing model regarding the Butterfly Valf products by using the most frequenly used six lot sizing algorithms that has been explained in the first part. This part is also seperated in in two sub-parts. In the first part, the six lot sizing models has been applied to Butterfly Valf products, and the results obtained from that application are sequenced based on the minumum stock cost performance criteria. In the second part, similar to the first part, the optimum model sequence has been performed by using the same lot sizing algorithms just like those in the first part, but this time the performance criteria is maximum profit rate and profit together with the minimum production cost instead of the minumum stock cost.
In the consequence part, the results obtained from both the first and the second part of the application are interpreted in the context of distinct indicators incuding in micro (departmental) and macro (mainly financial) ones.
