Combined Encryption and Turbo Coding Systems
In this thesis, performance of combined encryption and turbo coding schemes are evaluated. Especially, detailed encryption techniques are explained. Whole encryption techniques from the early version up to today are investigated with algorithms.
Encryption techniques are mainly grouped as classical, cyclic machines and modern. In classical type, either in placement or exchange form. Cyclic machines are effective in the Second World War. Modern encryption is mainly divided in two groups regarding key types. These are symmetric and asymmetric keys. Each encryption type has its own computer architecture.
In this thesis, DES, 3DES and AES algorithms are investigated in detail. The advantages and disadvantages are explained and compared to each other.
The other part of the thesis is Turbo coding. Detailed information on Turbo encoder/decoder is given.
In the application section, we have chosen bit streams as 128, 512 and 1024. They are encyrpted by three encryption techniques and encoded by Turbo. Their performances are evaluated in white Gaussian channel model. The results are compared with ideal encryption. Their performances are tested and evaluated regarding ideal case.
