In mechanical research, the theory of linear elastic continuity is used to 
study the stress state around the wellbore. Theoretical fracture and collapse 
pressures are then determined according to the strength criteria to prevent 
the collapse of a particular wellbore. Chemical researches are aimed at 
preventing the instability of the wellbore due to the effects of drilling mud and 
the use of oil-based solutions. There are two aspects: First, to prevent water 
from penetrating the wellbore into the wellbore, and second, to prevent the 
clay from expanding due to hydration.
