Schiff bases or azomethines are one of the most significant synthons in 
organic synthesis and they are formed by the condensation of carbonyl 
compounds with amines, resulting in the production of an imine bond. They 
are of interest to pharmacists not only because of their synthetic importance 
but also because they exhibit a wide range of biological capabilities. Various 
studies have demonstrated that these remarkable chemicals have antibacterial, 
antiviral, antifungal, anti-hıv, antidiabetic, anticancer and other properties. 
These remarkable chemicals, in particular salicylaldehyde derivatives, have 
such a wide range of functions that they could be used to develop new drugs.
From the other point, due to the high activity and easy cell penetration 
properties, various nanoparticles either independently or inside ensembles 
are frequently used in drug design. Among them, silver nanoparticles are 
used to increase the biological activity of the targeted drug due to their 
immense and broad spectrum of biological activity, in particular antiviral, 
antibacterial, anticancer, anti-HIV, antileishmanial and so on.[4-5] 
Taking into account all above mentioned, synthesis of new azomethines 
on the basis of salicylaldehyde derivative and their modification with silver 
nanoparticles were performed. As aldehyde component was used 3,5-
dichlorosalicylaldehyde, whereas 2,2′,2′′-nitrilotriethylamine and 1,8-
diamino-3,6-dioxaoctane were used as an amine scaffold.
