GENERAL QUESTIONS
requiring the answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’ and spoken with a
rising intonation. They are formed by placing part of the predicate (the auxiliary or modal
verb) before the subject of the sentence. According to whether they are asked for the first
time
or repeated, general questions are divided into groups:
first-instance questions
and
second-instance question
.
The
first
-
instance
questions
comprise the following main subtypes :
basic
questions, confirmatory questions, questions put forward
as a subject for discussion,
comments.
