Canadian sustainable development center indicates that the sustainable development of the tourism
industry depends on environmental, economic and social stability [2, p.309].Local governments and
the public should be involved in tourism-related decision-making in areas where tourism is
concentrated.
There is a close link between the development of tourism and the application of new information
technologies in this area. Operations such as studying international tourism, selling information on the
tourism market, applying information technology in various fields, pre-booking of hotels, booking tickets
facilitate the organization of tourism. The flow of information in the tourism market lies between different
sectors of tourism and agencies. Tourists are looking for information about their products. Manufacturers
and mediators produce information. Information technology has a great role in providing visitors with
information about the characteristics of the product, prices, transport schedules, and booking opportunities.
They may also obtain information from mediators, tourists and tour operators, corporate travel companies
or direct manufacturers. But in our globalized world, time runs very fast, and time management is of great
importance. In this regard, the use of information technology is of great importance.
Manufacturers also need information about tourists, their needs, wishes and desires. Not only
mediators and tourists, but also government agencies, travel agencies and associations act in the
information space. State agencies disseminate managerial information, travel standards, currency, visas and
security information. The tourism industry generates a great deal of information. In average of 25
transponders are operated with each customer for booking of air ticket. It is important to use modern
information technology to effectively utilize mass flow of information. In the modern world, various
electronic supply systems have been created to accept and approve orders from online customers. Most of
these systems are used globally.
New information technologies are constantly improving. In the 1970s, the US airline has created
Delta, Continental, Western, Norwest systems for the reservation of air tickets. These systems are
reminiscent of the "Saber" system. The Saber Global Distribution System is used by over 350,000 travel
agencies throughout the world by 400 firms, 100,000 hotels and 42 car rental firms, 50 rail companies and
17 cruise travel companies. Later Western Europe also created its own reservation systems, Amadeus and
Galileo. These systems are still used. Abakaus system is designed in Asia. These four systems cover all
continents. They can be used to connect to each other or to book independent flights.
"Intersoft Acadamservis" has created a new software product for the tour company. This system
allows you to book tours through the Internet. The tours are written on this system in special databases. In
addition to classification of tours in these bases, you can obtain information about places and receive
electronic confirmation when your order is accepted. This type of technology can take all stages of booking
online.
The Amadeus Global Distribution System is the most popular and leading automated system for pre-
booking worldwide airline tickets, hotels, car, railway tickets, cruises. 725 airline companies, 57,000 hotels
and 42 car rental companies use this system. "Amadeus" provides a wealth of information on tariffs,
countries, visas, medical restrictions and weather information.
Consequently, it should be noted that the effective use of existing tourism potential, which is one of
the most important income-generating sectors of the economy, contributes to regional development with its
positive effects to other sectors.
