Their only excuse for missing class is not getting online. Otherwise, everything is available for them that they can get announcements, notes, assigments [assignments]. Another merit [advantage/benefit/positive] of remote education is that it is cost-effective. E-learning typically costs less than traditional on-campus education. Tuition fess are often lower, and there are no additional expenses associated with commuting, housing, or campus facilities. However, web-based learning can be solitary experience with students working independently and potentially feeling isolated.
