My friend and immediate supervisor in the United States Army, CSM (Command Sergeant
Major) Gabriel Arnold is the wisest person I have come to know. In the Army, we are to take orders
from many different types of leaders. Often times, these leaders give their orders in a hurtful and
blunt fashion. But, sometimes, we are lucky enough to be graced with the presence of a
compassionate but firm leader. I was fortunate enough to have CSM Arnold as my leader, and at first
I did not have a liking for him either. Later, my mind changed once I saw his leadership style and the
way he gave great tough advice to me. Sometimes, the advice is not what we want to hear, but it is
what we need to hear. He has experienced many things in life, which has brought him so much
wisdom about how to treat others and the workings of life. Since this man has never lead me in the
wrong direction when asked advice to and he leads people smartly, CSM Arnold is the wisest person
I have encountered in my life.
