Q230. Describe the qualities of a good citizen?
A. Sample Answer
In order to be considered a good citizen, I believe an individual must possess two qualities. To
start off, a good citizen is one who abides by the laws. Laws were created in order to ensure social
harmony. If someone
goes around violating the laws, he is showing that he has no respect for the
well-being of himself,
other citizens, or his country. However, if you abide by the laws, you are
showing you care about your country and those in it. Secondly, a good citizen will vote. Voting is
such an important part of ensuring the continued success of a nation. By voting, a citizen is showing
that he does care about the fate of his country. A nation can only grow
if citizens are actively
involved in that growth by choosing the people and the laws that will govern the country. To sum up,
if citizens are law-abiding and take the time to vote, I believe they possess the qualities it takes to be
good citizens.
