Seventh Form, a long –O (as in English slow).

For instance AKO (first form Alf + seventh form K) comes before ıSSÂT (sixth form Alf + fourth form S + sixth form T)
VERBS when given in their root or simplest form are technically the 3rd person singular masculine perfective,

so, for instance, for “to speak” we could also read “he spoke, he has spoken”.
In the English to Ethiopic section which follows it, Ethiopic words appear in the Biddulph transliteration system1: script versions can easily be had by using syllable letters of the chart below. Script versions are added in brackets where ambiguity may occur. The ALPHABETICAL ORDER in this section is as in English, viz. A-Z.
