Middletown’s Bridge Matriarch dies at 100 Years of Age
Vandora, “Van” Woodruff, who managed the Middletown Duplicate Bridge Club for over 50 years, died on August 20, 2002. She remained an active and fierce competitor at the bridge table through age 99, but her friends also fondly remember her sense of humor. Once, at age 97, as she arrived at a local club game, she told her partner she had forgotten her glasses. “But it doesn’t matter,” she said, “because I only wear them for looks.“
CBA LIBRARY NEWS
The Library Committee consists of:
Mary Segal Rita Boeh
Peggy Gatch Dorothy Gard
Alex Pappas
Please contact one of these people before any game and they will be happy to assist you.
Please be considerate of others and return your books on the date they are due. If this presents a problem, call Mary Segal at 513-533-1744 to renew your material.
We are proud of the books we have been able to offer in our library; however, many books continue to remain out and some are never returned. Therefore, to encourage prompt return of materials, we have been forced to put the following new policy into effect:
All delinquent borrowers will be listed
on the bulletin board each month. Those
who do not adhere to our new policy
will be fined $5.00 for each month that
their material is overdue. These names
will also appear in the ALERT.
Our goal is to simply encourage you to return books when they are due. Please respect our policy just as you would that of the public library.
We appreciate your Support and Cooperation!
