Circuit Protection: Require GFCI protection device, in
accordance with all national and local electrical codes. The
drive will operate on 2-Phase Line-Line-Ground, as well as
Line-Neutral-Ground electrical systems.
Wiring 1. Ensure all appropriate electrical breakers and switches are turned off before wiring the motor. STORED CHARGE - Wait at least sixty (60)
seconds before servicing.
2. Ensure the supply voltage meets the requirements listed
on the motor nameplate. If these requirements are not
met, permanent motor damage may occur.
3. The pump should be permanently connected to its own
independent GFCI-protected circuit.
Note: Pentair offers 2-Pole 20 Amp GFCI breakers
(P/N PA220GF) which offer personnel protection
while meeting 2008 to current NEC Standards for
Pool Pumps.
Note: If using a two-pole relay or timer, apply and
remove power to both POWER LINE TERMINALS.
4. For wiring sizes and general electrical guidelines,
please follow the specifications defined in the National
Electric Code and any local codes as required.
5. Use strain reliefs and ensure all electrical connections
are clean and tight.
Note: Any unused conduit openings should be sealed
with the provided conduit plugs.
6. Cut all wires and conductors to appropriate lengths to
help prevent conductors from arcing or overlapping once
connected.
