a. Write down the meaning of each morpheme you identify, (If you are in
doubt, consult a good etymological dictionary)
b. What is the syntactic category (noun, adjective, verb, etc.) of the form
which this morpheme attaches to and what is the category of the resulting
word?
3. More Complex Words
So far we have described words with just one or two morphemes. In fact, it
is possible to combine several morphemes together to form more complex
words. This can be seen in long words like:
Unfaithfulness: contain the morphemes un-faith-ful-ness
Reincarnation: contain the morphemes re-in-carn-at-ion.
