International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED).
A comprehensive framework for
organising education programmes and qualifications by applying
uniform and internationally
agreed definitions to facilitate comparisons of education systems across countries.
Knowledge.
Facts, information and skills that are acquired through education and experience to
help understand a subject theoretically or practically.
Learning outcomes.
The
totality of information, knowledge,
understanding, attitudes, values,
skills, competencies or behaviours an individual is expected
to master upon successful
completion of an education programme.
Learning programme.
A structured and purposeful learning process that leads to the
achievement of a qualification or part-qualification.
Level descriptor.
Descriptors define what
is meant by learning outcomes, describing what an
individual
is expected to know, be able to do and to understand, having
acquired a qualification
at a particular level.
Licensing.
A credential provided by a teacher licensing/regulatory body that provides the right
to practice in a particular country or territory.
