4. KEY INTERFACES (Internal and External) Internal: o Must be able to engage and communicate effectively with all levels of the company organisation
(technicians, engineers, supervisors, site managers, procurement and EH&S)
o Have the credibility and technical knowledge to communicate and underline AP positions on
mechanical maintenance issues
o Be the first point of contact for mechanical maintenance issues.
External: o Must be able to engage and communicate effectively with non-AP entities such as the various
contractors required to support the facility maintenance. o Liaising with equipment OEM’s to help diagnose design issues as and when required. o Liaising with the customer to explain failure conditions and any RCA’s, as and when required. 5. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Minimum requirements are the completion of an accredited formal mechanical apprenticeship, followed by 10
years post apprenticeship experience of mechanical maintenance within engineering environments such as the
power, petrochemical, steel, oil and gas industries.
Supplemented by the following:
o Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills across all levels (technical and non-
technical)
o Knowledge and experience of preventative maintenance systems (e.g. SAP or MAXIMO),
planning and cost management
o Ability to troubleshoot and make good and timely decisions in a pressurised situations
o Proven track record of good man management skills
o Flexibility in terms of changing priorities, workload and working hours
o Ideally have some previous experience working on steam turbine drives and Siemens
compression trains, or similar.
6. SUPERVISION o This position will have 5 direct reports (Mechanical Maintenance Technicians)
o There will be a requirement to supervise various contractors on site
