ETHNIC SITUATION OF IREVAN GOVERNORATE 

(in XIX – early XX centuries) 

 

SUMMARY 

 

In the “Introduction” of the thesis the author substantiated the 

relevance of the topic, conducted an analysis the degree of studying of the 

problem. At the same time, the chronological framework, the degree of the 

studying of the problem, the source base, the scientific novelty, the goals 

and objectives, the scientific and practical significance of the investigation 

are shown. 

In the first chapter of the dissertation was investigated the socio-

economic and socio-political situation in Western Azerbaijan after the 

seizure of the Irevan khanate by tsarist Russia, the establishment of the 

Armenian region, economic situation in the Irevan region during the 

Russian occupation, was widely covered mass migration of Armenians to 

the Irevan region and its results.
