Conjunctions in the speeches of Heydar Aliyev Summary The paper analyzed in detail the use of subordination and coordination conjunctions in
the speeches of the great political orator Heydar Aliyev. The author gave some interesting
observations. For example, when in the speeches of Heydar Aliyev sentence begins with "if"
and is followed by a sentence with the conjunction "because" the audience gets a clear
explanation of the issues raised. When the great orator would like to bring to the audience
philosophical views on this or that problem, it is widely used conjunctions "but", "however"
which allowed him to combine contradictory picture of the problem. The "neither nor" combination finds its application in complex psychological situations. The repetition of "and"
divides the whole into parts, and the conjunction "and" combines parts into a whole that is
widely used by Heydar Aliyev. The author also conducted a comparison between the use of
conjunctions by classics of Azerbaijan literature and by great political orator Heydar Aliyev.
