to Master’s Dissertation work of Ergasheva Aziza–2
nd
 year Master’s 
Degree student of Faculty of Tourism, 5A610301 -Tourism (the types of 
activities) Department of Bukhara state university on the theme of “Ways to 
increase efficiency in the tourism business (on the example of national crafts)” 
Under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoev at the video-conference 
hall of the Symposiums Palace in Tashkent on December 22, 2017, the main 
results of one-year work in 2017 and the address of the President of the Republic 
of Uzbekistan addressing the most important directions of socio-economic 
development in 2018 "One of the perspective sectors of the national economy that 
brings high profits today is tourism. Uzbekistan is a country with great potential in 
tourism. There are more than 7,300 cultural heritage sites in the country, and most 
of them are included in the list of UNESCO. 
At the same time, it is possible to open new tourist routes using the unique 
nature of our country and the opportunities of the beautiful recreation zones. With 
active involvement of global brands in this field, we have to pay special attention 
to the development of tourism, ecological, educational, ethnographic, tourism and 
other sectors of the industry. We must take into account that the use of public-
private partnerships opens up broad opportunities for the development of this 
sphere." 
Tourism is one of the most important sectors of the economy, and it is 
necessary to further improve this sector, effectively using the existing 
opportunities. Uzbekistan is also a convenient place to travel and visit. Because our 
Motherland has been famous throughout the world for ever and ever. The rich 
cultural and cultural heritage left by them is of great interest to the international 
arena. 
It is noted that in the first 9 months of 2017 about 1 million 800 thousand 
tourists arrived in our country. It is 17% more than in the corresponding period of 



2016. Exports of tourist services in our country also increased by 17% and 
amounted to 1 billion 86 million dollars. By the end of the year, the number of 
tourists visiting our country is expected to exceed 2.5 million. 
The Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Measures to 
Ensure the Further Development of the Tourism Industry of the Republic of 
Uzbekistan" as of December 2, 2016, stipulates the accelerated development of the 
tourism sector, promotes tourism as a strategic sector of the economy, is an 
important factor in effective use. 
In the first half of 2012, tourism revenues in Uzbekistan did not exceed 1.5% 
of GDP, while in other countries this figure is between 10% and 45% of GDP. At 
the same time, most of the tourists flows to the main tourist centers of the country - 
Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva. However, the systematic development of the 
infrastructure of a number of promising regions of our country is not paid enough 
attention. 
A wide range of activities are being carried out in the region in order to 
promote the tourist potential of Bukhara, rich cultural and educational heritage, 
customs and traditions, national craftsmanship, visual and practical development of 
the country, but the efficiency of tourism business not yet satisfactory. 
This dissertation gives suggestions on the efficiency of tourism in the tourism 
industry through national craftsmanship. Indicators of efficiency in the field of 
tourism, and in other areas, are one of the main indicators of the sector's 
development or crisis. Using these indicators, it is easier to get any concession 
about the status of the industry or the economy. 
There are organizational, economic, social, technological, psychological, 
legal, ecological, ethical and political aspects of efficiency in tourism business. 
The main directions of tourism development in tourist business are: 
- use of scientific and technical achievements in tourism; 
- reduction of operating costs in tourist enterprises; 
- improving the quality of tourist goods; 



- reconstruction and modernization of material and technical base; 
- increase of basic and additional services in tourist areas; 
- increasing the efficiency of the advertising business of the tourist company; 
- increasing the overall profitability and productivity of tourism. 
- as well as investment management in a tourist enterprise. 
The significance of national craftsmanship in India and Jordan is analyzed in 
this dissertation. The status of our national crafts in the Bukhara region and 
throughout the republic was covered by statistical indicators. As a result of the 
analyzes, theoretical and practical recommendations were presented. The role of 
"Silk and Spice Festival" in the development of national crafts has been 
emphasized. 
The national craft development strategy, developed in the dissertational work 
to improve the effectiveness of national craftsmanship, will be used more 
effectively in the future.
to support the realization of national handicraft products, 
increase the craftsmanship capacities of the craftsmen to adapt their products to 
international standards (quality, trends, designs) and to promote their products to 
tourist markets, helping trainers know how to develop sustainable business 
relations between craftsmen and tourism markets, helping sell products through 
national exhibitions, and providing consumers with the opportunity to buy original 
products, promoting the development of marketing infrastructure, promoting the 
brand's development, raising awareness of technological developments and 
craftsmanship, improving the quality and effectiveness of the manufacturing 
industry The Hunarmandlar shopping center has the following tasks: organization 
of exhibitions, events, trade in crafts, museums, demonstration of ancient crafts 
monuments, tea houses, arranging tourists around the fountain and giving tourists a 
good view of the area.
It is not surprising that the creation of craft tourism in Shafirkinsk, Gijjduvan 
and Bukhara will be an impetus for increasing productivity in the region.

The main purpose of this dissertation is to increase the effectiveness of 
tourism in the region by further development of national crafts, increase the 
prestige of Uzbek craftsmen in foreign countries, improve cooperation among 
artisans, and promote the sale of craftsmen and products.
