Issues of Patriotic Education in the Works of Khalil Rza Uluturk During the Soviet Period 93 K. Rza, who lived a life full of difficulties, did not lose hope among the cold walls, and
believed with deep hope that one day he would be released. The poems written by the poet in
prison were mostly based on this motive. In these 2000-page articles, the poet expressed his deep
love for our homeland in the most sublime way. These works, which are an artistic expression of
the ideology of independence, are considered a valuable treasure in terms of patriotic education
of young people.
The suffering of prison life could not negatively affect the spiritual world of H.R. Ulutürk.
Proudly recalling his life, the poet not only regretted his struggle, but, as clearly expressed in his
poems, did not change his position for a moment, and openly stated that he would always be a
herald of freedom. Poems such as "No, I could not stay", "Happiness in prison", "I will not give
up my life", "I am worried" are works written in this context.
Despite his imprisonment, the poet was not indifferent to the political events that took
place, and reacted very harshly to the desire of the Soviet government, which was on the verge
of collapse, to tarnish our prominent personalities until the last moment. In an article published
in the Pravda newspaper at that time, K.R. Uluturk refuted the opinions written against the
Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, and proved the emptiness and meaninglessness of the slanders
made by the facts, noting the important work done by H. Aliyev. These articles in the diaries
prove how sensitive the poet is in his attitude to every personality of our people, how
uncompromising he is in the face of all injustices.
During his stay in Lefortovo prison, K. Rza was repeatedly interrogated by investigators,
and at different times his speeches at rallies were shown to the poet via video. The poet, who did
not avoid questions during the interrogation, not only denied the fact that the speeches at the
rallies belonged to him, but also watched those moments, as if going back to that time and
defending his right to speak without hesitation.
The heart, longing for freedom, longed for the homeland on the one hand, and longed for
the family on the other. The poet did not forget to write those verses that will give strength to his
family. had comforted his family with his poetry.
Lefortovo's diaries, which reflect many historical events, also cover issues related to the
personal life of K. R. Uluturk. Thus, the material and moral difficulties of prison life, as well as
the repeated interrogations of the poet by Soviet government officials are recorded in the diaries
in detail.
In addition to having a rich artistic image, Lefortovo's diaries, which gave a clear idea of the
difficult moments of K. R. Uluturk's life, are of great importance both politically, poetically and
spiritually.
When K. R. Uluturk said patriotism, he meant it in unity with the feeling of nationality.
According to the poet, a person who does not love his people and is not proud of his nation
cannot be considered a patriot.
K. R. Uluturk brought new ideas to the history of our literature, created new works
enriched in form and content. The poet's work is the peak of morality in the patriotic education
of the young generation. The pearls of this creativity have been successfully taught in secondary
schools since our country gained independence.
The most important feature that distinguished K.R. Uluturk from his contemporaries was
his open-mindedness. Thus, since the occupation of our homeland by the Soviet government for
