Science and Education in Karakalpakstan. 2023 №2/1 ISSN 2181-9203 334
photos were added. The first photo shows the hands holding the hands of a person sitting in a
wheelchair. Through the photo, we can notice that it is a wheelchair, and we can see that the main
emphasis is on the hands. This means that we should always extend a helping hand to people with
disabilities.
The second photo also shows hands holding hands that want to read a book for the blind.
Neither person is visible in the photo. Even in such a situation, the helping hands are photographed
in the main plan.
The third photo shows a doctor examining a boy sitting in a wheelchair with a smile on his
face. The child's face is not shown in the photo. Of course, it fully responds to the methods of
photographing people with disabilities. Usually, when photographing people with disabilities, their
faces are not captured. The reason is that it can have a negative effect on their psyche. They might
be felt bad as discrimination.
In May 28, 2021 issue 107 (363) of the newspaper “Yangi O’zbekiston” under the column
“Ochiq gap” (“Open speech”) the article “Let’s start the fight against corruption from ourselves”
was published. It includes real life examples of corruption and its causes. In the article, we can see a
montage of several photos related to the state of corruption.
In these photos, the “hands” method was used without showing the exact identity of the
perpetrators of corruption. The first photo shows the hands of people giving and receiving money
inside the envelope, and the envelope is depicted in the center of meaning. The second photo shows
the time of the court's decision. In the third photo, the handcuffs of the arrested person are taken in a
close-up. All three photos show hands.
The authors of the book “Photojournalism” listed the aspects that should be followed in
photojournalism, but which are always violated by photojournalists [5]:
1. Excessive intervention in the activities of human life;
2. Incorrect representation of facts in photographs;
3. Illegal designation.
Newspapers do not only publish photos taken by newspaper photojournalists, but also use
photos from several sources. Basically, news agencies serve as a source of mass media not only for
news but also for photos.
The article “35,000,000 soums was charged for damages” was published in
the “Ishonch”
newspaper, November 22, 2022, issue 148 (4744) under the “Huquq” (“Law”) column. In the
article, it is written that the person working at the enterprise was injured during work, became
disabled and could not receive his salary. The article depicts money, not a photo of a person or a
photo of his office.
According to V. Abisheva wrote that: “a photojournalist should respect and pay special
attention to the following four things according to the basic moral principle: privacy, scenes of
violence, sexual and social decency”. The mass media sometimes disregard privacy and other
moral principles recklessly or for the sake of sensationalism, thereby causing great harm to people
[6].
CONCLUSION In Uzbekistan, photographs in newspapers serve not only to provide facts and additional
visual information, but also to have a good effect on people. Visual journalists act as public proxies.
The main task of photojournalists is to visually report on important events and different points of
view in our common world. The main goal is to reliably and comprehensively describe the topic.
