Dioxo Molybdenum (VI) Complexes With 2-Hydroxy-1-Naphthaldehyde-4-(H/C6H5) Thiosemicarbazone S-Ethyl Esters
2-Hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde-4-(H/C6H5)-thiosemicarbazone S-Ethyl esters were synthesized according to common procedures by addition of the aldehyde to compounds of S-Ethyl- 4-(H/C6H5) thiosemicarbazide hydrohalogenide obtained from the reaction of thiosemicarbazide and 4-phenyl thiosemicarbazide with ethyliodide.
Dioxo Molybdenum (VI) complexes of general formula [MoO2(L)D] (D=Methanol, Ethanol, Propanol ve Butanol) were synthesized by the reaction of molybdenyl acetylacetonate [MoO2(acac)2] with 2-Hydroxy-1-Naphthaldehyde-4-(H/C6H5) Thiosemicarbazone S-Ethyl esters (H2L)
The physicochemical properties and structures of ligands and their complexes were characterized using elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis, 1H-NMR and Mass spectroscopies.
Single crystal structures of dioxo molybdenum (VI) complexes having [MoO2(LI)EtOH] and [MoO2(LII)MeOH] general formulas were determined by using X-Ray Diffraction method.
It has been found that the ligands are coordinated to dioxo molybdenum (VI) cation as tridentate ONN-donors through phenolic-oxygen, imine-nitrogene and thioamide nitrogene as a result of spectroscopic investigations.
