Project Transport From Logistics Angle
Project transportation is used especially for the out of loading gauge cargoes which are extra long, extra large or extra high. This kind of cargoes are generally materials, devices or equipments which are necessary for the intrastructure investments such as factories, refineries, mining, energy or constructioncompanies in either public owned and private ones. Project logistics involves complete logistic operations and duties like qualified distribution, storage or handling besides the transportation operations. The purpose of this thesis study is to provide for the information about the project transportation as well as project logistics making the value added services within the intregrated logistics management more productive. In the theoretical part of this thesis study information about the project transportation and project logistics is given, the processes are defined and its relationship with the construction logistics is explained. In the application part of the study however, the choice of the most suitable international transportation mode and storage area for the project of the transfer of the home appliances to a construction site against the uncertainty of the demand term is examined and the results of the project is thence evaluated.
