Iptv Network Distribution Technologies, Content Transport Archıtecture and Multicasting
In this thesis, the IPTV services which will be introduced firstly in Turkey very soon is explained and the IPTV backbone infrastructure which is mostly constituted using fiber optic network elements and termination devices is explained.
The adaptation and optimization studies of this fiber network to connect existing copper network which has been already used for DSL and Telephone services are explained in an experimental manner and forming IPTV content using encoding and compression technologies on raw signal which is obtained from several kind of sources is progressively explicated.
Also the IPTV Communication Model (IPTVCM) is introduced and the content transport architecture with constituting multicast groups which will grant new services such as Content on Demand (CoD) and time shifting to end-user are introduced and explained over this model.
