based projects for geological CO2 storage, anthropogenic resources, with other names, secondary and/or recycled resources sourced from wastes and remnants .
Note: As an “umbrella” classification, UNFC captures all resources
(mentioned previously) that no other classification system covers such a wide
range (UNECE, "About UNFC" 2004). As systematic framework, UNFC
classification system ensures level of confidence for evaluation of future
quantities of production within the project, on the other side, provides
international energy and mineral investigations, analysis on government
policies for resource management, planning of industrial procedures and a
rational deal with capital. In other words, this system covers the reflection of
states in terms of economic and social domain, such as markets and
government framework, industrial and technological maturity, and pervasive
uncertainties. (United Nations Framework Classification for Fossil Energy
and Mineral Resources. 2015)
In UNFC classification, the categorization of total remaining resources
is based on three key standards exposing their recoverability
(Supplementary Specifications for the Application of the United Nations
Framework Classification for Resources to Petroleum 2021):
Economic & commercial viability (E).
Field project status & feasibility (F).
Geological knowledge (G). The first set of categorizations (
«E» axis )
is utilized for portraying
economic and commercial feasibility of project, considering market prices
and proper legal, regulatory, environmental, and contractual specifications.
The second set (
«F» axis ) expresses maturity of studies and commitments
required to develop projects; including from initial endeavors for exploration
before the conformation of deposit or accumulation existence within to
project which is already make extraction and sale of commodity, together
with reflectance of principles of standard value chain management. The third
set of categorizations (
