to decrease CO2 emissions. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change (IPCC) concluded that global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
have been planned to be decreased by 50-80% by 2050
to prevent
undesirable consequences of global warming.
The methods of mitigating this problem can be categorized into several
groups. More specifically, capturing CO2 directly from an industrial scale is
possible, namely cement klin, as well as various types of technologies such
as membrane gas separation, adsorption, absorption,
chemical looping,
which can also be used [4]. Surfactants are utilized for capturing carbon on
a wide spectrum, and two types of surfactants are used; synthetic and green
[8]. The disadvantage of synthetic surfactants is that they are obtained from
chemically toxic substances and are observed to culminate in serious
environmental problems [6]. Therefore, green extraction of surfactants is
suggested to be more environmentally and cost-friendly, efficient, and easily
available than synthetic surfactants [7]. It is
also predicted that natural
surfactants are certain to be regarded as the best epitome for toxic and non-
biodegradable surfactants in Enhanced Oil Recovery EOR [3].
The following ionic liquids is going to be utilized for this experiment:
