Estimated properties.
Whereas the benefits of bio-based surfactants outweigh the disadvantages,
there are some cons to using green surfactants as well. Expensive large-
scale manufacturing and intense foam generation are regarded as downfalls
of these substances. Green surfactant market is anticipated to expand
significantly in the near future, owing to rising consumer demand for greener
products, environmentally sustainable legislation, and legislative limitations
on plants. Recent advancements in technology of manufacturing have already
resulted in a 10 to 20-fold improvement in efficiency, nevertheless there is
still room for improvement. (Sourav De, Susanta Malik, Aniruddha Ghosh,

Bidyut Saha 2015).Green surfactant is produced from a variety of different
resources. Nowadays, companies prefer palm oil, although surfactants can
also be synthesized from WCO, coconut oil and yeast. However, several
factors make WCO appear more appropriate, such as the fact that it is the
most abundant raw material in our location and is far less expensive than
other raw materials. Furthermore, using WCO in the production of new
products reduces the risk of unfavorable environmental consequences
(Sharrel Rebello, Aju K. Asok, Sathish Mundayoor, M. S. Jisha 2014).
