Abstract
: Taking into account the tourism potential of Azerbaijan, it is clear that the sector,
which needs to be developed in Azerbaijan, is the tourism sector. Azerbaijan is one of the countries
with potential for diversification of tourism. Winter tourism, which should be implemented in
Azerbaijan, has a great potential. A number of tourism development activities have been implemented
in our country. Currently, the tourism sector is among the developed sectors of the country. The
development of winter tourism in the country provides socio-economic, as well as political benefits for
the country. Promising regions for winter tourism in Azerbaijan are Guba-Khachmaz and Sheki-
Zagatala regions. Finally, the level of monitoring of winter tourism in the world is high, and it is
better for our country to benefit from neighbour countries and countries of Western Europe.
Looking back at 4-5 years, local tourists had little information about winter tourism, and winter
tourism in Azerbaijan was not big enough, but now we see that, local people are more in line with
foreigners.
If the winter tourism is developed, you can achieve economic and social benefits. For the
development of winter tourism in Azerbaijan, first of all, it must be advertised in order to attract the
attention of both domestic and foreign tourists. One of the other ways is to correctly assess the
potential of a country using the experience of high-class countries in the field of winter tourism.
