Summary
Structure and functions of legal awareness

The article analyzes the structure and functions of the sense of justice as 
a form of social consciousness. It is noted that the formation of the structure 
of consciousness is associated with three functions: cognitive, regulative and 
communicative. If all the functions of consciousness appear in the individual 
at an acceptable level, then, without a doubt, the sense of justice will be normal 
and it will be diffi cult to expect from such a person behavior contrary to the laws 
of morality. In the case of insuffi cient development or violation of any function 
of consciousness, a favorable ground is created for the emergence of criminal 
consciousness.
