Abstract. 
The article deals with modern evaluation methods applied in Azerbaijani language classes. 
The main goal of modern education is to stimulate the student's activity, ensure his development, and guide 
him in the teaching process. Therefore, assessment should be used as a means of positive influence that serves 
progress, measures and predicts its quantitative and qualitative indicators. The school should open the way for 
each child to realize the most basic need of life, the desire to feel himself as a person in the full sense of the 
word. In order for all children to be able to study successfully and reveal their potential, it is not insignificant 
that teachers and other participants of the educational process have a support that motivates them to achieve, 
their kindness, and their personal interest in the child's success.

Firstly, assessment should create positive emotions in the child. In active (interactive) teaching, the 
teacher should emphasize the student's achievements rather than mistakes, and should rely on support rather 
than punishment. The evaluation is based on the principle "There are no wrong answers, they just vary."
