Assalomu alaykum!
Dear participants of the international scientific-practical conference, “Quality
Education and Interdisciplinary Approach: Problems,
Solutions, and Cooperation,”
It gives me immense pleasure to extend my gratitude and express my delight in
seeing all of you gathered here. The significance of this conference being held at Gulistan
State University, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, in
collaboration with Istanbul Commercial University, Kazan Federal University, and Balikesir
University, holds great symbolic meaning. This significance arises from the fact that, thanks
to the initiatives of our state’s leadership, Syrdarya is transforming into a hub of science and
innovation within our republic. In this context, innovation is synonymous with education
and knowledge, as it is through education and knowledge that an innovative environment
can flourish within the region.
Gulistan State University stands as the scientific and innovative hub of Syrdarya.
Currently, more than 17,000 students study at our university. About 500 master’s students
in 20 specialties and 150 doctoral students in 25 fields are engaged in scientific activities.
Efforts are being made to generate income from the activities of research centers
at
Gulistan State University, connect departments with network enterprises, and create
conditions for teachers to conduct practical research in enterprises. The university is also
ensuring the step-by-step implementation of tasks specified in the 10-year
cooperation
agreements concluded with network enterprises. Drastic measures are being taken to increase
the number of economic contracts and startup projects.
To put into practice and commercialize the scientific innovations of young scientists
from the university, the establishment of spin-off companies is underway.
When comparing the educational,
teaching-methodical, scientific, and scientific
research work, as well as work in the spiritual-educational field carried out by the team of
professors and teachers over the last five years, several changes and achievements can be
observed. For example, in 2017, 10 master’s students were engaged in research work in
three specialties within the university’s master’s program, whereas in 2022, this number
increased to 397 master’s students across 20 specialties. The total number of publications
was 367 in 2017, whereas in 2022, it reached 922. Five monographs were published by the
team five years ago, while 29 monographs were published in 2022, along with 10 obtained
patents. In 2017, there were 12 researchers working in the university’s
doctoral studies,
and by 2023, this number increased to approximately 150 researchers. Great opportunities
have been created for our professors and teachers to improve their qualifications, undergo
internships, and pursue doctoral degrees in foreign higher education institutions. The level
of utilization of international databases by the team has dramatically increased.
All of this has had a positive effect on the growth of the quality of education for
students and young individuals, as well as on the potential of trained personnel. In turn,
the team of Gulistan State University actively participates in the comprehensive reforms
implemented in the field of education in our country and makes a significant contribution to
the development of the current level of personnel potential.

In 2021, four educational auditoriums at the university were equipped with
“E-lectern,” and by 2022, the number increased to 38.
The total number of scientific projects is 8, showing a 35.0% increase compared to
2021, and these projects have been successfully implemented. Scientific articles by professors
and teachers were published in 922 publications, including 346 scientific journals (196 of
which were international), and 582 conference collections (106 of which were international
conferences). Additionally, 17 textbooks, 82 training manuals, and 120 monographs were
published, and 29 patents were obtained.
The number and quality of articles by professors in national and international scientific
journals have significantly increased. The active participation of professors,
doctoral
students, and master’s students from the department in international grant projects, as well
as efforts to improve the quality of utilizing international scientific and technical databases
such as Scopus and ScienceDirect, have contributed to the increased use of intellectual
property tools by professors and teachers. Special attention is given to the development of
24 scientific research centers established in the departments, taking into account the priority
directions and characteristics of scientific activity. This includes
providing educational
laboratories and other necessary material and technical resources to effectively establish the
activity of these research centers.
Undoubtedly, the attention given to the development of science has initiated a new
stage in the higher education field of our country. Therefore, as representatives of the science
and education field, we should respond adequately to such concerns using all our knowledge
and experience. We firmly believe that such hard work will yield results in due time.
During the conference held today, a considerable number of scientific articles were
presented by over 700 scientists, both from abroad and within our country. These articles are
abundant in valuable scientific content and provide important scientific insights. Now, the
challenge lies in collaboratively examining and putting into practice the issues and scientific
proposals highlighted in these articles.
In conclusion, I wish success in the conference’s proceedings, and I hope that this
conference will serve as a prelude to the great collaborative work our universities will
undertake in the future.
Thank you for your attention!
