shoes"; it helps students to recognise that their way is not the only way and possibly not even
the best way (Arnold and Brown, 1999). Empathy developed through group activities helps to
a relaxed classroom atmosphere where learners can
more self-confident and willing
to speak in the target language (Díaz, 2002).
