Ichthyophthiririasis is caused by protozoa lchthyophthirius multifiliis from order Holot-
richa. It parasitizes in skin, fins, gills, eyes and mouth cavity of fishes.
The disease was registered in skin and fins of the carp (17,3%), European carp (18,4%),
grass carp (9,8%) and bleak (26,5%) as a result of researches conducted during 2002-2006
in fishpond of the Absheron peninsula.
It is necessary to carry, out the treatment and preventive measures for gualitative devel-
opment of fishes. If the disease registered in the ponds the treatment measures should be
carried out according to appropriate instructions.
