and faster. Computer-assisted translation operates with human intervention, uses tools. Assists to translate correctly and 

effectively. During this process computer plays station role for translators that accesses texts, tools, structures for example 

monolingual and bilingual dictionaries. CAT gives facilitates to the translator to create personal work. Additionally, it saves 

more time for workers. Nowadays these systems can not work in a high quality and need to be edited by human translators. 

 

Machine translation goals gaining all information, analyzes all structures of texts or sentences and translates main 

meaning. After all, there are no necessity of human proofreading. 

Machine translation is offered in a high price and has opportunity to translate well owing to different types of complex 

tools. Accurately designed translation system creates efficiency during procedure. There are a lot of MT systems for 

instance SPANAM is used for English-Spanish translation, SYSTRAN was released in USA for military aims for Russian-

English translation. In 1976 it has been approved by the European Community, now it is able to make translation among the 

English, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese languages. Although system is in a high quality, it 

has mistakes too. Some errors change the meaning of concept. For example: ” comme l’a dit president George W. Bush ”. 

 

SYSTRAN translated it “ like said it the president George W. Bush “ 

SPANAM translated it “ as said it the president George W. Bush “. 

Human translated it “ as president George W. Bush put it “. 

Despite of advantages, human translation predominates a large percentage. In 1990s in Europe and USA, people 

preferred human translation, so it was 300 million pages, in contrast of  that, it was just 2.5 million pages via MT. However, 

it is one of the today’s issues that whether CAT or MT may occupy translation jobs and make it less considerable. In fact 

special types of translation such as literature, philosophy, some idioms, phrases that CAT and MT are helpless to translate 

and not powerful, absolute enough as human brain. Personally none of the translators would make the same mistakes for 

skills of reading and hearing words. However, these systems can make the same mistake. 

In conclusion translators should know and learn about all new technologies and apply without any fear for quality 

improvement.
