Development and Application of a Web Based Learning System For a Basic It Course
The influence of information technology (including web technologies, software or hardware tools) on the overall teaching environment is becoming more pronounced. Nowadays the ability to incorporate web based technology into instruction has been deemed to be one of the most important professional competences of educators. Web based education/instruction is the most preferred distance education method and its main component is Learning Management System (LMS).
In this study, after the detailed description of the structure and characteristics of an LMS, a sample LMS was developed and used as a supportive tool in a traditional classroom instruction. Lastly, the application of the system has been evaluated and discussed.
