Impact of Non-Governmental Organizatıons on Forest Policy in Turkey

The importance of the forests and the environmental consciousness is increasing globally due to different forms of human beings effects on the nature and natural resources. Anymore, on the other hand it is known that forests are decreasing day by day. Today many efforts have been taken against this decreasing trend in many parts of the world. Both the importance of civilian social foundations increasing day by day and also activities of these organizations are very useful for society. However, organizations working level in favouring of society and usefulness of their activities are matter of discussion. Civilian social foundations have important missions in order to solve environmental issues. Among the aims of these civilian social foundations, we can name the following items, to overcome environmental problems, to protect the natural environment, to avoid natural disasters, to educate people about how to protect the environment. Civilian foundations function their throughout the country or regional level. They also have to improvise common politics on hour to protect the forest and the natural environment. They are also supposed to influence the country’s policy on forestry. In this project, the possible additions of civilian social foundations which are interested on forests and the natural environment has been investigated.
