Abstract
With the seeming growth of the industry, the quantity of items of various sizes has 
increased beyond what a human can sort without making any mistakes. Changes in weight 
need the use of boxes of the appropriate size. As a result, it is critical to create and use 
automation systems for sorting products based on their weight, height, material, color, and 
other characteristics. This paper describes a system that engages Low Cost Automation 
(LCA) to classify objects according to their heights automatically. 
Introduction
Sorting objects automatically is a valid way that plays a crucial role in 
speeding up the industrial process, meanwhile, acquiring high accuracy.

human power, thus automatic sorting system is one of the beneficial ways 
that should be used to transfer human power to efficient machines. To control 
the height sorting system, certain sensors should be applied, and outputs 
should be addressed to the main controller to power the actuators for 
directing elements forward to the right places. There can be a wide range of 
approaches to work this system such as working with limit switches, 
photoelectric sensors. In this paper, height is detected with a diffuse sensor 
whose working principle is referred to the light reflection principles. The main 
components involved in the system are: Programmable Logic Controller, two 
DC motors for conveyors, conveyer belt assembly, pusher (front and back 
sensors must be provided), diffuse sensor.
